Skáldsögur
When Emily Brontë [1818–1848] passed away at the young age of 30, she left behind what is now considered the world's most classic love story. Wuthering Heights tells the story of how the foundling Heathcliff forms intensely strong bonds with the daughter of his benefactor, Catherine Earnshaw. They are kindred spirits but socially belong to different worlds. The wave of frustrated longing and destructive passion that ensues when Catherine refuses to marry Heathcliff is unique in world literature.
EMILY BRONTË [1818–1848] was an English author, born in Thornton, West Yorkshire. She had five siblings, two of whom were the authors Charlotte and Anne. Apart from poems, Emily Brontë wrote only one novel, which would become one of the greatest love stories in literature, namely Wuthering Heights [1847].
