Author Shashi tharoor writes about his views on Hinduism and gives breif information about Hinduism to readerAuthor writes that he is Hindu as he was born Hindu. He studied Hinduism from some sources especially on translation of Vedas and other holy books. Book is divided into three parts in which first part he deals with introduction on Hinduism and early movements in Hinduism like Adi shankara,Brahmo Samaj by Raja Ram Mohan Roy,Vivekananda’s Ramakrishna Mission and teaching of Mahatma Gandhi.Second chapter deals with fundamentalist hindutva movement by Savarkar,Golwalkar and Pandit Dheen Dayal Upadey. He writes some of events that took place after BJP now ruling party of India was elected under leadership of Narendra Modi.( Author belongs to opposition party Congress)Book is well written which gives us a good view on Hinduism.

In the last 70 years I have not met a Hindu. I have met Iyers, Iyengars, Bhumihars, Kayasths. Saryuparis and Kankubjs. I have also read why I am not a Hindu. But for the first time an illustrious Indian, proud of his faith and traditions has written a well researched book on Hinduism. I recommend this to all Hindus and all those who want to understand Hinduism. An enriching and enriching and ennobling book.

Started with good info but later turned for political bias and lot of mis information and untrue incidents. How can an educated person come down to this level for his political benefits
