The one star is not for the story but the performance. I’ve stopped listening as it seems to be narrated by a robot? The melody of the voice would be suitable for the news, but not for a story, and certainly not one like this. It’s as if someone is just summing up sentence after sentence without any involvement or emotion, which is something this book deserves.

A good relationship with a really cute dynamic, communication between the leads (gasp) and great consent. Of course it still has the lead with daddy issues and "I'M a ManLy MaN I ShAll ProViDe And BreeDDdD ahhhh" but despite that it was pretty good. I think it's too bad that Tessa Dare (and many other historical romance writers) in their books write basically no important character relations other than between the love interest. Like with her best friend. We never get a satisfying resolution, or any information about their trip around the world which was a mayor motivator for the MC. Anything that doesn't lead to the MC's having sex is dropped. And too bad.
