The spellbinding series continues. Following the bestselling The Seven Sisters, The Storm Sister is the second book in Lucinda Riley's epic saga of love and loss, inspired by the mythology of the Seven Sisters constellation.
Read by Hattie Morahan (The Burning Chambers, Girl with a Pearl Earring)
Ally D'Aplièse, in her early thirties, is about to compete in one of the world's most perilous yacht races when she hears the news of her adoptive father's sudden, mysterious death. Rushing back to meet her five sisters at their family home, she discovers that her father – an elusive billionaire affectionately known to his daughters as Pa Salt – has left each of them a tantalizing clue to their true heritage.
Ally recently embarked on a deeply passionate love affair that will change her destiny forever. But with her life now turned upside down, Ally decides to leave the open seas and follow the trail that her father left her, leading to the icy beauty of Norway . . .
There, Ally begins to discover her roots – and how her story is inextricably bound to that of a young unknown singer, Anna Landvik, who lived there over a hundred years before, and sang in the first performance of Grieg's iconic music set to Ibsen's play 'Peer Gynt'. As Ally learns more about Anna, she also begins to question who her father, Pa Salt, really was. And she begins to wonder: why is their seventh sister missing?
The epic, multi-million selling series continues with The Shadow Sister.

Good but very irritating that the performer had not recearched the pronunciation of the norwegian words. Led to much confucion and even misunderstanding. (tock me seversl chapters to get what the title of the book was that Al got as a clue. Since the Rrr's indicates lack of all understand of this language it would be better if it had all been in English.

Wow, den här serien är verkligen speciell, det händer mycket hela tiden. Otroligt bra skriven, fin berättarstil. Som vanligt finns det måna personer och olika tidslinjer. Alleys bok är full av tragiska händelser men även av total lycka. Man blir liksom indragen i deras värld. Efter ha avslutat en bok av serien behöver man någon dag att landa och bearbeta vad som har hänt innan man kan starta nästa bok. Hur författaren kan ha koll på allt och alla är en mysterium för mig.

The book itself is a cozy read, but I couldn’t finish because of the narrator’s weird attempts at sounding Norwegian. I find it irritating in general when the narrators try to emulate an accent, but this was worse than usual. She could at least have tried to check how Norweigan sounds.

I really liked it, it was sad, but interesting and well written, even though the stories in the past had a bit too many details.A little annoying that the men in the story always seem to lead the way.Well read.

The history lessons of this series are pretty interesting. But that's pretty much it. The tie around story about the sisters is weak, unintelligent, with big plot holes and one dimensional characters. The last book Atlas ties up some of the loose ends, but not enough to make it intelligent or even all that good.

Den må vara förutsägbar men jag tackar ändå inte nej till en hjärtevärmande historia med karaktärer man känner för.
