When 38-year-old Conner O’Rourke returns to Ireland he’s running from his past. His advertising agency in Sydney is going broke, the bank is foreclosing on his mortgage, and he’s hearing voices in his mind urging him to return to Inis Mór. His grandmother, whom he hasn’t seen in years, has contacted him saying she's critically ill and must speak with him, but when he arrives on Inis Mór, a wild, windswept, rocky little island some 30 miles off the West Coast of Ireland, she’s already passed, leaving him a cottage and a dilapidated sailing boat. A mysterious old seaman appears and offers to help him rebuild the boat and, as they work together, the old man tells Conner stories of Ireland. Stories of courage, passion, and purpose. Stories that could change Conner’s life forever if he can only muster the courage to follow his heart.
“O’Raleigh’s new book: Passage to Inis Mór - reminds one great Irish writers, such as Sean O’Faolain and Benedict Kiely.” Frank O’Shea - The Australian Irish Echo
Following are some of the over 1,000 Amazon Reviews received for Passage to Inis Mór.
"An awesome story! I just finished this book and it's one of the best I've ever read! The story was fantastic! I thoroughly enjoyed it and wished it would go on and on! I got so immersed in the story that I could smell the sea air and feel the mists on my face! The Celtic crosses, the stone walls in the fields, the ferry, the village, all of it came back like I was standing there as I read! I loved it! Well done Brian O'Raleigh!
Amazon 5-Star Review "A wonderful book. Truly, a book that makes you think about who you are and what you want in life. Told by a great storyteller in true Irish tradition."
Amazon 5-Star Review. "Loved this book! This is my new favorite. The author is a wonderful writer and the wisdom he imparted kept me highlighting impactful statements throughout the book. ."
