#1 I had no gigs and was barely getting by. I was practicing scales and modes when I was invited into my own house by a mysterious stranger in a NASA-style jumpsuit and a black motorcycle helmet. He said he was my teacher.

#2 I met a man who told me that he was a teacher of nothing, but I saw him as a teacher of something. He showed me that music is bigger than I thought, and I learned that it has laws.

#3 A crazy man came to my house, claiming to be a teacher of nothing but Music. He told me that Music is the mother of all sciences. He also told me that I was a bass guitarist, which I didn’t believe. I wanted to believe that I was a bass guitarist, so I let him teach me about Music.
