#1 I had spent the past two weeks alone in a cabin in Green Mountain Falls, near Colorado Springs. I had been searching for the answer to one question: how can we bring about change in ourselves and our relationships. I was not satisfied with just spewing accumulated wisdom from my field.

#2 I had always asked others for the answers to my questions, but never myself. I decided to ask myself what was the one thing I could do to make my life flow freely and easily, and the answer came immediately: relax and let the energy dance its way through me.

#3 I had always resisted my feelings, and in that moment, I decided to stop resisting. I opened myself up to receive the previously unloved parts of myself with love. When I dropped my stance of resistance, I felt totally connected to myself.

#4 The problem of resistance is the fundamental issue we face in our psychological growth. We resist our experience, and as a result, we lose our direct connection with life. We yearn for clear, direct experience, but we are not satisfied with watching life through the veil of mind-stuff.
