Mary, a young woman in Nazareth, was preparing for her wedding to Joseph when her life was interrupted by an angel named Gabriel. Gabriel brought incredible news—Mary would give birth to Jesus, the Son of God.
 
We also learn about Joseph’s reaction when he found out and how God sent an angel to reassure him in a dream. Through their faith and obedience, Mary and Joseph show us how to trust God, even when His plans seem bigger than anything we could imagine.

And what does this story teach us about Jesus coming for all people, not just one group? Listen as we explore Matthew 2:1-12 and discover how the wise men’s journey reminds us that Jesus is the King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

#357: The Wise Men

Micah 5:2, John 3:16-18, & Luke 2:1-7
 
Today we learn what a prophet is when we introduce Micah. We discuss how Micah specifically told where Jesus would be born and we follow the journey God put Mary and Joseph on to get them from Nazareth to Bethlehem. God used different people, events, etc but it allllllll happened just as He said it would. This story also drives home John 3:16-18; that God sent his son Jesus, not to condemn the World, but to save us through Jesus. What a precious gift this is!

#356: Oh Little Town of Bethlehem

John 1:43-51
 
Today we hear Jesus gather more followers; Phillip and Nathanael. Nathanael doubts that the the savior could come from the town of Nazareth. We hear Jesus' response to this and from it learn that Jesus knows what’s going on inside of us, our thoughts and feelings, and He knows what’s going on outside of us. Jesus is such a powerful & loving father that there will never be a time when He does not know what’s going on in your life and that brings us comfort today.

In today’s episode, we continue our exciting Elisha series with the incredible story of how God used Elisha to bring a boy back to life! We’ll pick up where we left off: the boy grew up strong and healthy, but one day, tragedy struck. What followed was a journey of faith, hope, and an unforgettable miracle.
 
We discuss what to do when we pray for a miracle and it doesn't happen how we hoped it would. This woman and her son's story ended up beautifully but there were many that same day who lost loved ones too. I also use John 9 to discuss some of the lies kids may hear about the why behind sad events.

2 Kings 4:38-41
 
 We continue our Elisha series as we dive into the scripture about the “Bad Stew.” During a famine in Gilgal, Elisha shows how God can take even the scariest situations and turn them into miracles. When poisonous gourds accidentally get added to a pot of stew for the prophets, God uses Elisha to fix the problem. This story reminds us of God’s power to care for us and teaches the importance of trusting Him, using wisdom, and seeking guidance when we face problems. I also address that God gives us wisdom to make smart choices, and when kids are unsure, they should talk to their parents for guidance.
