ABOUT THE ORIGINAL BOOK
The Green Mile by Stephen King tells the story of Paul Edgecombe, a death row guard at Cold Mountain Penitentiary during the 1930s. The narrative focuses on John Coffey, a massive black man with a childlike demeanor, who is convicted of murdering two young girls. However, it soon becomes apparent that Coffey possesses extraordinary healing powers, challenging the perceptions of the guards and raising questions about his guilt. The book follows the lives of the guards and inmates on E Block, the death row unit, as they grapple with the presence of the supernatural and the moral dilemmas they face in their profession. The story explores themes of justice, innocence, compassion, and the nature of good and evil, as the characters try to understand Coffey's true nature.
