#1 The world was covered in darkness, and there were no sun or stars. The perpetual night had no moon or stars. The two tribes of creatures were the birds and the beasts. The birds wanted light admitted, but the beasts repeatedly refused. The birds made war against the beasts, and the beasts were armed with clubs.

#2 The boy was hunting the dragon one day, and when his uncle gave him some arrows and a bow, the boy shot the dragon in the heart with his arrows. The dragon rolled down the mountain, and four precipices led to a cañon where he fell.

#3 The Apache Indian boy, Apache, was the first chief of his tribe. He was taught by Usen how to hunt and fight, and was given the eagle’s feathers as a sign of justice, wisdom, and power.

#4 The Apache Indians were divided into six sub-tribes. I belonged to the Be-don-ko-he sub-tribe, which lived in the west The four tribes that were fast friends in the days of freedom are now dwindling in number.
