ก้าวเข้าสู่โลกแห่งเรื่องราวอันไม่มีที่สิ้นสุด
ประวัติศาสตร์
The birth of modern art was a response to the shifting social, technological, and philosophical landscape of the 19th century. As industrialization transformed cities and societies, artists began to challenge traditional artistic conventions, seeking new ways to express the rapidly changing world around them. This period saw a break from the rigid academic traditions that had long governed European painting and sculpture, paving the way for the radical experimentation that would define modern art.
One of the key catalysts for this shift was the Industrial Revolution, which not only altered daily life but also introduced new materials and techniques that influenced artistic practice. Mass production and urbanization led to a new social order, one that artists sought to capture in ways that felt more immediate and personal. The decline of aristocratic patronage and the rise of a bourgeois middle class also meant that artists had to find new ways to engage with audiences, often turning to themes that reflected contemporary life rather than historical or mythological subjects.
During this time, Romanticism and Realism emerged as two competing yet complementary movements that set the stage for modern art. Romanticism, with its emphasis on emotion, individualism, and the sublime, challenged the rationalism of the Enlightenment. Artists like Francisco Goya and Eugène Delacroix infused their work with dramatic energy and personal vision, rejecting the academic ideal of perfection. In contrast, Realism, led by figures such as Gustave Courbet and Jean-François Millet, sought to depict the everyday lives of ordinary people without idealization. Their work was seen as radical because it elevated common subjects to the level of fine art, breaking from the grand historical and religious narratives that had long dominated painting.
