Formerly a sniper in US Special Operations Command, he now lives in a humble apartment in Tempe, Arizona where he attends and teaches classes at Arizona State University. He also owns and manages his own security company in Tempe.

 When two students try to hire him to protect them, Kincaid was not at first interested. However, when he listened to their problem, it sounded like a kind of calling. That was, until they told him she was the granddaughter of the wealthiest man in Islam, owner of most oil wells and refineries in the Middle East and Persia. Only then did Kincaid become wholly intrigued.

 Three hit teams of trained and equipped assassins were dispatched from Persia with the mission to execute a list of Muslims in the US who had converted to any denomination of Christianity, as was forbidden by Shariah Law. The Patriarch of all Islam felt the need to make a statement that such conversions were neither permitted nor forgivable. Among the names on that list were his granddaughter and her new husband, students at ASU.

 Where will Kincaid go? To whom can he turn for support? The answers to these questions make for a most fascinating read and reveal the heart and soul of the entire Kincaid family.

 This is the third book in the story of Orson Kincaid. With each book he tries to get closer to God by not taking the lives of anyone. But, with each book, he ends up in a dilemma that forces him to make similar decisions. Is it ever right to take the life of another? What if they are actively trying to kill you? What if they are determined to kill those you love? What if they wanted to join a different denomination and needed protecting for themselves and their loved ones. This is the story is how one man ends up struggling with his faith in the powerful presence of evil.

Orson Kincaid had achieved his spiritual goal and was baptized into The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. His plans were to start his own security business, teach collage part time, and settle into a quiet lifestyle without any kind of violence. But that plan gets interrupted when two of his students come to him, desperate for his help. They had just joined the same church he attended but there was a problem. They had both been raised Muslim in the Middle East and their families were not happy with their transition—to say the least! This is the third Orson Kincaid book William Staub has written. William is also a member of the LDS Church. Although raised in the church, he joined the US Army after graduating from high school, and never left, giving the Army 52 years of his life before he hung up his sniper rifle, kit, and Kevlar. He is still married to the wife of his youth and together they have four children, seven grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren—at last count. He retired to St Augustine, Florida with his wife where they both take life at a slower pace—except for when he writes!
