The story of "Daniel in the Lions' Den" is found in the Book of Daniel chapter 6, in the Old Testament. It tells of Daniel, a devout Jew who served as an advisor to King Darius of Babylon. The other Government leaders were jealous of Daniel and wanted to remove him from his position in the Government, so they devised a plan, but to their dismay, they could find nothing against Daniel, except the way he prayed and worshipped his God, so they approached the King Darius to make a decree that no man could pray or petition any man or God, only the King himself for 30 days, the King was well pleased with the plan, yet he had no idea his own leaders were out to destroy Daniel, thru this decree, a man of Integrity and Wisdom, whom King Darius loved and respected. Once the decree was signed it must be carried out so was the law of the Medes and Persians. "So they had Daniel", for he would not compromise his relationship with his God, and he continued his customary prayer time 3 times a day contrary to the Kings Decree. Daniel was Faithful to His God, and God was Faithful to Daniel by delivering him from the lions. When Daniel was put into the Lions Den, God sent an Angel and shut the Lions mouth, God delivered Daniel for he was Faithful to His God, the God of Heaven and Earth.
