Wasn’t it destined for Aliya and her daughter? Mrs Khan, an educated upcoming young lady from a traditional old city of India thanked her destiny on getting the man of her choice; a young, dynamic and upwardly mobile businessman as her husband and for her cute one-year-old son. She playfully enjoyed her authority as the boss and guardian to her loving husband. Accompanying him on his business trip to Grenams, a cool business hub a few hours of flight away, from the hot humid weather back at home was a pleasure and an opportunity to try her own wits at befriending new people. She was at the height of her enjoyment when attacked by a pack of wolves, who, to her dismay, claimed to be her coreligionists. It was impossible for Mr and Mrs Khan to remain silent spectators to the imminent shooting of an innocent child. They tried to reason out… She lost him and was then butchered like a goat, but wasn’t she waiting to be called Mamma? Was it destined? A concise story charged with emotions, suspense and action, written by Tazim Fatima―a young lady, a student of education from Lucknow. With its visible feminist touch, a positive attitude and a desire to live and help others live, it is clearly her reaction to the news pouring in of the gory carnage by different terrorist groups around the world.
