The adventure continues! With the first element (earth) painfully collected within the Oracle, Ret Cooper and his friends return home to find that things are only heating up. Thanks to some mischief caused by the peculiar Benjamin Coy, Ret’s second scar makes its explosive debut. But what does it mean, and where will it take them? These questions gnaw at Ret as he begins his sophomore year at Tybee High.

With challenging twists, inspired turns, and a few unexpected surprises, our hero once again confronts danger and disaster, while discovering newfound feelings for a certain female companion. Oracle - Fire Island (Vol. 2)

Two elements collected (earth and fire). Will the pain from Sunken Earth ever subside? Will the smoke rising from Fire Island ever disperse? Will Ret, Ana, and Paige ever complete their sophomore year? No, not yet! A third scar has appeared, pointing them to a place where Mr. Coy refuses to go. Fortunately for him, a fourth scar surfaces, one that takes them to the Amazon Rainforest, the Sahara Desert, and ultimately the City of Gold.

We follow our heroes across sea and sand—along rivers wet and dry—on a journey that spans multiple continents as they seek out the hiding place of the third element (ore). Organized or vigilante, trouble finds them at every turn in lands where deadly curses abound. Somewhere, between golden arches and ancient ruins, an age-old secret is waiting to be uncovered.

But Ret’s enemies are multiplying, a grim reality that will try the hearts of his friends. And even while some romances bloom and others fade, Ret and the gang must stay on guard. The Oracle is wasting no time now, clearly hastening the gathering of its elements. Things are in full motion; Ret feels this. So does Lye; he is ready—and waiting.

Oracle - River of Ore (Vol. 3)

Here be an oracle. Despair all ye who seek her. Magic will have its cake and eat it too.

Okay, well. So I was mixing metaphors. I was new to the gig.

But as far as I could tell, there were three kinds of people. Those who wanted confirmation that they’d chosen the correct path. Those who wanted to deny there was any sort of destiny at all. And those who wanted to tear it all down.

So why was it always the third type that showed up at the door to my 1975 Brave Winnebago, dragging me into their power struggles and using my past against me — when I didn’t even know what that past was?

Could I thwart the destiny that had been envisioned for me before I was born? Could I carve out a future filled with love and light with my chosen mate?

I See Us

Change is in the air. Just days after adding the third element (ore) to the Oracle’s first two (earth and fire), Lionel betrays Ret before world leaders, blaming him for our planet’s recent catastrophes. Then Lye enacts sore revenge on the Coopers. The mounting burdens finally become too much for Ret, and he abandons his destiny to “cure the world.”

But the Oracle has much more to teach our young hero, even powers unseen. Wisdom finds Ret in the Arctic wilderness, where an old foe becomes a new friend and where a phenomenon in the sky illuminates Ret’s path. Meanwhile, however, Mr. Coy sees a fearful reflection of Ret that threatens to destroy their bond, and Ana learns a difficult lesson about one of society’s tragic yet invisible influences.

Things heat up and then really cool down as the quest for the fourth element (wind) extends to the bottom of the globe. Join Ret as he braves an abominable snow beast, ventures deep inside Antarctica’s most ancient glacier, and then needs help from a certain loved one as he comes face-to-face with his toughest challenge yet: himself.

Oracle - Solar Wind (Vol. 4)

After collecting the fourth element (wind) in Antarctica, Ret returns home to find the resistance is only increasing. Every nation has joined the effort to stop him, and there’s talk of a threat against Coy Manor. Thanks to an ally at Waters Deep, our heroes learn a secret that takes them to a mysterious tree in Russia where Ret discovers a land lost in time (and a new admirer).

Meanwhile, a death in the community sets Ana on a mission to uncover the truth about nutrition, eventually gleaning her answer when Paige discovers a strange drawing of Stonehenge deep within the Keep. At the same time, Jaret accepts a mission to steal an item from Lye, and Mr. Coy stumbles upon a deadly weapon that could spell Ret’s doom...

The stakes are high as the quest to fill the Oracle takes on a whole new dimension, including Lye's plan that eliminates his need of Ret entirely.
