Gothic art, an aesthetic movement that flourished from the 12th to the 16th century, represents a pivotal shift in the cultural and artistic landscape of medieval Europe. Emerging from the Romanesque period, Gothic art is characterized by its emphasis on verticality, light, and intricate detail.
