When Shri Ram and Lakshman ji came to face him, he attacked them with terrible arrows. When the arrows were released from Meghnad’s bow, they turned into a snake and entered the bodies of Shri Ram and Lakshman ji.

Due to this, Shri Ram and Lakshman ji fell unconscious which caused distress in the entire Vanar Sena.

Meghnad went back to Lanka and told his father that he had killed both the sons of Dasharatha.

On the battlefieldHere, when Vibhishana saw the Vanar Sena mourning and saw Shri Ram and Lakshman ji lying unconscious, he consoled the army and told them that both of them are still alive. Vibhishana asked them to carry Shri Ram and Lakshman ji to a safe place and arrange for their treatment.

The Vanar Sena became calm after they heard Vibhishana and they started thinking of ways to bring both of them to their senses. At that time a strong wind started blowing and Garuda Dev appeared and all the serpents holding on to Shri Ram and Lakshman ji ran away in fear.
