Just as they are about to depart from London for a dazzling holiday in Montecarlo, Inspector Holt and his valet Sunny are abruptly summoned by Scotland Yard to investigate a string of sudden, bizarre instances of untimely death that had been met by numerous wealthy men in recent days.
